Great little Mexican market. Lots of queso, meat, produce, pan dulce choices and everything you can think of in a little Mexican market. People super friendly and helpful (and good-looking :)) . They sell hot food, fresh hot corn tortillas (they're in the big ice chests in front), plenty of Mexican drinks, candy, soap, spices, candles, etc. Very clean too. We made out like bandits!

Tortillas are excellent. Soft but still classic corn. Some people screw this part too easily, they don’t! The bread & meat selection is nice and I’m honestly a fan of the steak ribs (costillas de res). Easily have a tasty lunch and/or dinner! Someone else complained about the cake, as if you can compare to Trader Joe’s, which isn’t authentic at all, but a make shift manufacturer made from god knows how long ago with preservatives and frozen on a shelf. But thats expected from such people. Pointers, for tres leches birthday cakes you should call ahead or go to a mexican bakery that specializes in that. People I can promise you she (the woman who complained) probably doesn’t speak Spanish and the lady was just trying to be nice and write something even though she’s not skilled for it. It’s a different mentality that Americans don’t understand. Despite, they do sell ready made cakes and take away slices. I wouldn’t sleep on a fresh tres leches from a genuine Mexican bakery. Anyway, even if other things aren’t satisfactory to you, you’ll walk away with something tasty thats guaranteed. I don’t work here or live in NC but coming back to visit I always stop by to get some prep for tacos, and bread like bolillos!

La Bonita in Cary is a Hispanic grocery store that my husband and I visit often. They always have a great variety of products that can be hard to find elsewhere, like plátanos, yautía, yuca, and ñame. The store is usually full of people, which shows how popular it is, but it never feels overwhelming. Prices are not the cheapest, but also not too high-they're reasonable for the quality and selection you get. Overall, it's a good place to shop if you're looking for authentic ingredients and a lively atmosphere.
